A short unit based off of Roald Dahl's "Lamb to the Slaughter" that will keep the students engaged at all times! This is a favorite of mine to teach because of the irony and plot twist. Students LOVE reading this story as well and are able to dig deep and closely read as they transform from teenagers into detectives and lawyers.
This is a perfect short story to use in a short story unit, in-between larger units to break up the curriculum, or at the end of the year to keep the students focused and interested.
Students are able to practice numerous skills such as close reading, answering text dependent questions, synthesizing information, predicting, comprehension, argument writing, and persuasion....all while having fun!
There are 8 documents and 32 pages.
