River, canyon, gulf, hills, island, lake, mesa, mountain, ocean, plateau, peninsula, valley.
Two booklets per one copy. Students will identify the landform pictured and list the characteristics that describe the landform.
Twelve landforms and twelve definitions are listed. Students will match up the landform with its definition.
Landforms 'Round the Room:
Cut out the 12 numbered landform cards. Give each student a copy of the recording sheet. They will go ‘round the room and list the landform pictured on each card and characteristics of each.
Twelve 3-piece puzzles: Each puzzle has the name, a picture, and the characteristics. Print, cut, and laminate each puzzle, and mix up. Students will put together the 12 puzzles. They can check their work with a one-page answer key included. Perfect for centers!
Landform Match Up:
2-sided worksheet plus a ½ page of pictures/definitions to cut out. Students will cut and paste the correct pictures or definitions next to the names of the landform.
Interactive Notebook Pages:
Three interactive notebook printables that students will cut and paste into their notebooks. Each of the 12 landforms is pictured, and students will lift the flap and write the characteristics of each landform.
Use as a whole-class anchor chart or individual anchor charts for students to record what they know, what they want to know, and after the lesson is taught- what they learned.
Students will think more critically about the characteristics of the landforms by listing similarities and differences of landforms. Three separate printables.
Picture cards and definition cards. Use as a memory game, display on a bulletin board, or store on a binder ring for student reference. These could also be cut apart and glued into interactive notebooks.
13-page PowerPoint presentation showing pictures and listing characteristics of the twelve landforms represented in these resources. Suggested use: Go through this PowerPoint with your students as they fill out their Landform Books!
