Description

Do your students need landform practice or review?

Would you like to have practice digtial task cards with pictures of every single landform?

In this set of Landforms Review task cards, students will practice 53 different landforms divided into three levels.

Every digital card includes an image of the landform (yes, even "divide"!).

Students will love the varied, bright backgrounds, and you'll love how comprehensive this set is.

The clues use accurate geographic language and definitions, with a hint of fun thrown in.

They all follow the, "I am a ....Who am I?" model, creating an accessible feel.

Understanding landforms is essential for students to discuss geography, so review and practice of landforms like this helps students move up to higher-level thinking.

⏳Lesson Plan Ideas⏳

Lesson Plan Idea #1: Preassessment
If you think your students have had exposure to landforms previously, have them complete the Review as a preassessment to gauge prior learning.

Because they are divided into levels, you will be able to see which students have mastered Levels 1, 2, or all three levels.

Students choose their level, so you can tell students when they have passed off one level and let them only work on the levels that still need practice.

Lesson Plan Idea #2: Initial Instruction
The clues are solid definitions, and combined with the image for each landform, a teacher can use this deck to teach landforms.

To do this, make sure students know that they are not expected to already know their landforms. Instead, they'll probably know a few (or be able to guess from the clue/picture) and they'll be learning more.

If they choose an incorrect answer, they just learned one of the things that landform is *not.* No worries! The card will let them try again until they choose correctly.

Have students keep tallies for how many tries it took them to go through a level, and then have them go through again, keeping tallies once more. Have them compare how many tries it took them the second time so that they can see their improvement.

This idea would work in the classroom at a center or learning station, or it would work equally well in distance learning.

Lesson Plan Idea #3: Initial Instruction or Review Game
If you are engaged in face-to-face instruction, you could go through the deck together using a smartboardfor either initial instruction or review .

Divide the class into teams and give each team a certain number of guesses (perhaps twice the number of landforms in that level).

Have each team take a turn with a card. They use a guess, and if they get it right, they don't "spend" their guess. Meaning, if they had 14 guesses and they guess correctly, they still have 14 guesses.

Lesson Plan Idea #4: Quiz Review or Test Review
Let students play alone or in pairs to practice for a quiz or test. Have them predict how well they'll do on the quiz or test based on their practice. Have them compare how they did on the quiz to how they did on the review.

♻️ Special Note!
If you have the ⭐Interactive Landforms Review Game with Google Slides™ and PowerPoint™, you can use the products together to give students yet one more way to practice the same landforms.

That game is not leveled, so you could use this one first and then that one for a broad review.

✅ All of the landforms are accompanied by images, making it easy for student to see what the landform looks like.

✅ The answer choices are clear and well-written. They make it easy to distinguish hard-to-separate landforms like "bay" or "gulf."
