Landforms Scavenger Hunt (With and Without QR Codes), Quiz, and Memory: This file includes a landforms scavenger hunt in two versions—one with QR codes and one without, depending on your preference. For the QR code version, students find the card that says “Start” and scan the QR code to reveal the first landform description. They search around the room for the landform that matches the description and scan the QR code below it. Each QR code will lead them to the next card until they complete the scavenger hunt. Your students will need access to a mobile device that can scan QR codes (iPad, iPod, iPod Touch, Smart Phone, Tablet) if using that version. For the version without QR codes, the descriptions are written out rather than in a QR code format. No work is required of the teacher, except to print, laminate, and place the cards around the room in random order.
The scavenger hunt recording sheet doubles as a study guide, which can be used to prepare for the landforms quiz. For the quiz, students must match the landform to its description. Answer keys to the scavenger hunt as well as the quiz are included. I also threw in a memory match game (with directions) for additional practice.
Here’s a list of the landforms that are covered in this pack:
archipelago, beach, canyon, cave, glacier, hill, island, lake, mountain, plains, plateau, pond, river, valley, volcano, waterfall
