This unit’s focus is learning about the surface of the Earth. In this unit students should learn about the different landforms on the surface of the Earth, like mountains, plains, plateaus, valleys, and hills. Students should also learn about the process that cause these surface changes. At the end of this unit, students should know the different landforms as well as the difference between slow processes, like erosion and weathering, and rapid processes, such as earthquakes, landslides, and volcanic eruptions. This unit plan will help students gain a good understanding of the surface changes and the major landforms of the Earth. As my summative assessment, I want my students to create their own model of the different landforms that can be found on the Earth along with a short written explanation of how the different landforms were created.
