Build landform vocabulary with these QR codes for science that contain real photos of the types of land on Earth. Students will read the clue (definition) and then scan the QR code. Their device will then be linked to webpages that contain only a real photo and the name of the type of landform. (no ads or other links on the site)
NGSS, Second Grade, Earth's Systems: Shapes and Kinds of Landforms on Maps, The History of Earth: Events happen Quickly or Slowly over Time is the standard that inspired this QR Code resource. The History of Planet Earth is full of events that happen very quickly or slowly over time Maps show the shapes and kinds of land formed by Earth’s Systems: Plate Tectonics and System Interactions. Your students need to learn these terms.
What’s more fun than QR codes? Let your students Read the Room or use these as a Science Center. All you need is a device (such as an iPad) that has a QR code reader app. (A free download!)
Your kids can get with a partner and quiz each other. (Just print multiple sets so several groups can work at the same time.) Or working alone, students can fill in the names of the landforms on the pages included for accountability if you want.
You decide to use only 6 vocabulary words, 8 words or all 12. Differentiate for your students. Let it fit your class and your learning goals!
Both a color and low ink option of QR codes are included. I also added a directions card and label. Just cut them out, glue back to back, and laminate for durability. I store mine in a zippered pencil pouch that has a clear window. But my partners used the cards in book form. (Less cutting for me. Horray!) Make it the way that will make you happy.

This is not a curriculum or day by day lessons. These are materials you can utilize to enhance your teaching of science.
This resource was designed to help students learn information addressed in the Next Generation Science Standard. It is the creation of Wendy Wished. It has not been endorsed by or created by the authors/publishers of NGSS.

Thanks so much.
I hope you grow to love teaching science to your "kids".
