Let your students practice their landform knowledge in a way they will LOVE! The Best Ever Landforms Game uses a simple yet exciting strategy that lets students build their own “land” and amass new landforms. Using lingo from modern video games that the students will understand, they will be begging to play this game again and again! Even my most reluctant learners ask me, “When can we play that game again?”
Each game piece has a hand-drawn image of the landform it depicts. Students must give the proper definition of the piece in order to add it to their game board. Rare pieces exist, and the students LOVE finding them! Please feel free to download the "Preview" to read the full instructions, as well as see visual examples of the game.
This game comes with all the pieces you need to play for 4 players, including awards to hand out at the end for various levels that your students can reach. If you have more than 4 players, just print more copies and keep them bundled in groupings of 4. Yes, there is some assembly (cutting) required, but my hope was to create a quality game that would keep students engaged and invested in learning their landforms!
The game can be used in conjunction with a larger landform unit, and focuses on these 16 basic landforms:
Valley, Coast, Hill, Plain, Bay, Island, Mountain, Plateau,
Peninsula, Strait, Cliff, River, Harbor, Basin, Canyon, Lake
All artwork is hand-drawn by me, and copyrighted by Jessi Klancke
