This is a power point presentation that summarizes the Landmark Supreme Court cases that are most often reviewed in Middle School.
The cases were selected to compliment Florida SS.7.C.3.12, but have application in all states. Each of the thirteen cases has one to four slides stating the issues and outcome of each case in summary format. All of my power point presentations are editable so you can adjust the information as needed. Due to the power point template layout, this one of only a few presentations I offer without pictures.
The cases in this presentation include the following:
Dred Scott v. Sanford, 1857
Marbury v. Madison, 1803
Gibbons v. Ogden, 1824
Plessy v. Ferguson, 1896
Brown v. Board of Education, 1954
Gideon v. Wainwright, 1963
Miranda v. Arizona, 1966
In re Gault v. United States 1967
Tinker v. Des Moines, 1969
United States v. Nixon,1974
Hazelwood v. Kuhlmeier, 1988
Bush v. Gore, 2000
District of Columbia v. Heller, 2008
I also offer these 13 cases and 25 other Landmark Supreme Court cases (for high school, etc.) as individual presentations of each case. Each begins with the titles of "Landmark Supreme Court Cases."
