This activity helps students break down and analyze Langston Hughes' famous "Harlem" poem (often referred to as the "dream deferred" poem).
Students will need access to the poem via a textbook, printout, or the internet.
The worksheet itself pushes students to think about word choices, imagery, and author's purpose. It also prompts an extension activity for students to write their own poem in a similar style.
