Product Description
This is a post-reading activity for Langston Hughes' poem, "I, Too." Students can compose their own work using Hughes' poem as a model (mad-libs style). Given our current political climate, this exercise can allow students to think from a perspective other than their own.

Sometimes I extend this to discuss Hughes' use of grammar and language/writing style to enhance the theme of his piece.

The second page includes my teacher sample for your reference.
