This handout has been obtained from NYC Division of English Language Learners and Student Support in participation with Janette Klingner and translated into Spanish. This handout is useful for teachers, therapists, psychologists and other members of the school team. This resource explains how some of the characteristics of learning a second language can mirror those of a learning or language disability and is conveniently laid out in chart format. It's a functional handout to give to any adult in the life of a child you believe has a language difference and it has been translated into Spanish for your convenience. You will use this handout AGAIN and AGAIN, especially considering the current state of over referring ELL's for speech and language disorders.
