It is so hard to motivate the upper elementary age student when it comes to speech therapy. They are tired of it and bored with it, so I have created a really fun and engaging activity for this age group!
Introducting Flextangles for Language Skills.
What is a flextangle?
It is a very ingenious paper craft that will keep your students engaged and involved in your therapy sessions or classrooms! When constructed the flextangle can be twisted and turned over and over and over endlessly. It makes an awesome fidget tool!
The bonus, in this case, is that it targets word relationships:
How it will work in your therapy sessions:
Your students will follow the directions that are written on the sheets, then they will color according to a specific pattern, and finally, they will cut it out and glue it together. Once it is completed they can then start turning it over and over endlessly. With each twist and turn different relational words are exposed for them to practice.
The words used in this resource are appropriate for 4-6th graders, so why not do your vocabulary work with a flextangle!
