This 78 page set of activities, worksheets and answer sheets is designed to be used with K. McCreary's adapted script of Shakespeare's play "The Tempest". Figurative language exercises are provided for each act. Metaphor, simile, and personification are defined, and selected quotes are given for student practice in the identification of these literary devices.
Additional exercises for each act include true/false, comprehension questions (called Quizzes) that require both lower and upper level thinking skills, graphic organizers, mapping tasks, and writing projects. Writing projects cover letters from one character to another, diary entries, a compare and contrast essay, and the creation of a picture book about one of the main characters.
These materials have been successfully used by teachers of students from 5th to 10th grade.
