Sorts! Sorts! Sorts! We've combined all of our Language Arts sorts in this one growing bundle! Perfect for literacy centers, partner work, guided reading review, or even whole group. These word sorts give your students a hands-on experience with Language Arts standards. Our students love working with sorts and we are always amazed at how quickly they grasp concepts they've struggled with UNTIL they get their hands on these sorts!
The following word sorts are in this bundle:
This product helps students learn the structure of a constructed response using R.A.C.E. or M.A.A.M acronyms. We use this sort to support our constructed response instruction.
Nonfiction Text Feature Sort and Assessment This product helps students master identifying text features and their purpose. We use this sort to support our nonfiction unit.
Credible vs Non-Credible Word Sort This product helps students work on identifying the characteristics of a credible resource as well as a non-credible one. We use this sort to introduce our Nonfiction Writing unit.
Character Traits Sort This sort helps students identify and differentiate the many attributes that authors consider when developing characters. We use this sort to support our character development instruction.
Genre Sort Bundle This Genre Sort Bundle includes characteristics of fiction, nonfiction, and poetry as well as all sub-genres that fall under these categories. Graphic organizers to help organize the sorts are also included. We start with this product by reviewing the characteristics of fiction, nonfiction, and poetry. Once this concept is mastered, we use the sub-genre characteristics sort.
Types of Writing Sort This sort has students considering all types of writing and placing them in the categories of Informational, Narrative, and Argumentative Writing. We use this as a review once all three types of writing have been introduced.
Character Conflict Sort This sort has students determining what category each conflict falls under -> Man vs Man, Man vs Society, or Man vs Nature. We use this sort to support our instruction on conflict development.
As we make more sorts, this bundle will continue to grow!
