Description

In this activity, students get a chance to look at words from English, French, German, Latin, and Spanish. They match and compare ten different words, getting a chance to learn about Romance vs Germanic languages.

Includes:

- Student worksheet with the list of words and comparison sentences

- PowerPoint to guide students through the activity

- Kahoot to practice identifying languages

- Teacher Notes (last slide of PowerPoint)

Designed for my 7th grade students after they've completed their language rotations. It gives them a chance to see what they remember and make comparisons. However, this activity could be done at the beginning of the year before starting language rotations or before starting any of the four languages represented.

Words included are based on the units they do in our language rotations, but files are editable in case you want to make changes to reflect different vocabulary.
