Through this series of Common Core aligned activities, students will construct their own knowledge of the following language types-- formal, informal, colloquial, scholarly, conversational, objective, subjective, factual, emotional, concrete, abstract, literal, figurative, and symbolic-- and discover how they convey tone and theme.
