This file can be used many different ways; some ways I have used it has been as follows:
1)Word wall: Cut out words into strips, fold along center and glue so definition is on back. Trim then laminate. Add a small piece of the “grabby” side of velcro for a felt board, or just a small loop of tape.
2)Individual student practice: Print file then copy each page front to back so that you can cut out words and have the definitions on the back. (You will have created two sets.) This is helpful if you can do this on heavier paper, but not necessary. Give each student a set, along with two envelopes. They can use the words as flashcards, sorting them by “familiar” and “unfamiliar” or whatever words you would like to use.
3)Classroom word work: have set in a basket/bin (laminated is better) that students can work through in class, sorting into two piles as mentioned above.
