Product Description

••• Giant Keyboard••Technology/Computer Lab Poster••Wall Size Computer Keyboard •••

This computer keyboard printable will help your students remember where the letters of the keyboard are because it has visuals that they can relate to: Toys for the top row, Animals on the “homerow,” and Instruments on the bottom row. No more having students ask in frustration where the letter “Y” is! After they’ve stared at this poster a few times, they will remember seeing a yo-yo toward the top of the keyboard (above Mrs. Hippo), and they will know right where to look! It’s “training wheels” to get students ready for touch typing.

This keyboard is color-coded to show students which fingers touch each key. (Dark purple, blue, green, and orange on the right, with lighter versions of each of these colors for the left hand). Eventually, students will start to remember that their pinky fingers work the purple keys, their ring fingers work the blue keys, and so on. I designed the “KeyboardLand” keyboarding technique to help my students be better able to remember where to find the letters on their keyboard. It has worked wonders for my students, and I hope it will for yours too!

Your download includes:
•44 Full color, high resolution images with cut lines and easy assembly instructions
•1 Full color, high resolution image of the entire KeyboardLand keyboard (no “assembly” required)

There are two printing options: You can print the entire keyboard as a single image, any size you would like (it’s high resolution, so it will remain clear even at larger sizes), or you can print the individual images with a regular printer on standard 8 ½ x 11” paper. With the single images, cutting lines are included so that you can easily line up the images to quickly create a large and impressive display. If you print it at the default size, the final keyboard will measure approximately 73 inches wide by 25 inches tall (1.9 meters by .6 meter)!

This display was designed to go with my KeyboardLand memorization materials. If you find it useful, you might also like the keyboarding games and practice sheets found here: Computer Lab Materials by Teacher’s Palette
