This product features two complete sets of phonics cards to use in your large pocket chart for handwriting or phonics instruction. Set 1 is with lines and Set 2 is with lines and arrows. They are sequenced in the order of Project Read lessons. These cards are great for whole group instruction or for small group work. It can be used as an intervention for RTI to help students identify spelling patterns when blending a word together. After teaching a lesson, the cards can be left in a pocket chart for students to use during literacy stations.
These cards can also be used as headers for word walls or flash cards for letter and sound identification.
Besides individual alphabet cards, there are consonant blends, digraphs, vowel teams, and other spelling patterns. There is also a page of blank cards. All vowels are red and all consonants are black. You may also want the set without handwriting lines that can be found at my store at Michelle Mallory’s Racing Team also as a freebie.
Please note: There are not any pictures or fancy borders around each individual phonics card because the cards are meant to be used for building and blending sounds together to make new words. The borders would interfere with blending the sounds together.
I recommend printing them on cardstock, using a paper cutter to quickly cut apart using the thin line borders as a guide, and then laminating them for extra durability.
