By using a class discussion and graphic organizers, students will be able to define, perform, categorize, and give examples of the largo, andante, and allegro tempos,
Students will fill out a graphic organizer (FREE and sold separately) that has sections to draw animals that fit the speeds of the different tempos. The teacher will be able to tell how the individual student is understanding the lesson. The teacher will be able to help the individual students stay directed toward the objectives. The teacher will also be able to use the graphic organizers as feedback to know how the individual students are understanding and mastering the content.
During the class discussion about the tempo differences, students will answer questions about the tempo differences: How would you describe your speed of travel/tempo? How could you make your speed of travel/tempo change? The teacher will be able to help the class stay directed toward the objectives, while giving the student the opportunity to explore the subject with their peers. By asking questions and then calling on individual students, the teacher will be able to know how the individual students are understanding and mastering the content.
