Feliz Navidad from Mexico! In “Las Posadas or No Room at the Inn for Pepper the Pooch" Pepper helps students learn how and why Las Posadas is celebrated from December 16th through December 24th in Mexico, with Spanish vocabulary for the holiday. Las Posadas is a nine-day holiday that reflects the historical customs of Mexican and Christmas celebrations and traditions.
There is an eight-page 'newspaper' for older students, simpler booklets for younger students, and poster sheets for the youngest students to use. The PowerPoint is an interactive presentation that allows students to provide answers before they are shown on the next slide. Notes are included in the PowerPoint providing details from the booklets and newspaper, but can be ignored during the slide presentation for a simpler, stream-lined overview using only the headlines on the individual slides. Therefore this package can be used for those in Pre-K to about Grade 6 (or ages 3 to 11). Please click on the preview for more details. The documents are in PDF, PowerPoint and Word so you can edit them.
Pepper has also included two quizzes, vocabulary practice, writing practice, and two activities associated with the holidays, as shown in the preview. Finally, a bonus four-page reference document in English of the relevant verses from the Bible on the birth of Christ is included.
