Handout contains several activities for students:
Part 1 -Listening to the story. Link is provided. Assigned for HW.
Part 2- Viewing vocabulary flashcards. Link is provided. Assigned for HW.
Part 3- Reading the story. Link is provided. Assigned for HW.
Part 4-Reading comprehension and reflection. Students grouped with classmates to discuss and reflect.
Key is not provided because the discussion and reflection questions will vary from student to student.
After group work, students share their responses with another group (group- share activity) Great activity for advance learners to practice expressing their ideas in the target language. I walk around to ensure their sharing in the target language. I also have a digital recorder and I record them as I walk through.
You may also ask one student in the group to record their conversation in Spanish using their cell phone and save as an audio file and email it to you. This ensures that students stay in the target lanaguage.
