This is a letter I am sending home on the last day of school. It reminds my students about how we made lots of connections during the school year: between stories, between words, and with math strategies.
It includes a post card (that I put a stamp on, and address to myself) and invites my kindergartner to write me a message on the postcard sometime over the summer when they make a connection with something they remember from our classroom.
I plan to have them up on my bulletin board in the fall for my "new" kindergartners to see.
To Prep, fold the postcard page in half and, using tape or glue, adhere the blank sides together. Write your own (teacher's) address in the "To" box. On the letter, add child's name and your signature. Send home with kids on the last day!
