Product Description
This hands-on activity helps students develop an understanding for how to use an exponential function (y=ab^x) to model different situations. This specific activity has students start with 100 squares that are "Alive" and they shake them and drop them every round and count how many squares survive each round. They will eventually develop an exponential function (y=100(0.50)^x) to model the number of squares left as a function of how many rounds have passed. Students will then graph their function and compare it to the actual number of squares left after each of the rounds they conduct.
