I created one of these TWO DAY Reviews last year., but this is a new set of eight cool activities that are ACTIVE and REVIEW. Most activities focus on Readiness TEKS and vocabulary. Teacher instructions are brief because I know you don't have time.
I plan on using these as centers where students can talk and interact. While students are busy in centers, I will meet in small groups to clear up any concepts that are still plaguing my kids. (They talk more freely in a small group.)
Match-Match: This is a matching game of diagrams and vocabulary. I tried to include concepts that kids easily confuse. (rotation and revolution)
Hot Topics: It seems that test makers love to ask kids to calculate how many degrees until something is freezing or boiling. I created this page for my students to work some problems out with a friend. I also included a step further, where they have to calculate if a liquid increased 2 degrees every twenty minutes. ;)
How Many Ways Can You Say: The 8 most difficult concepts for my kiddos are listed here. I ask them to list synonyms. For a review, this would be so beneficial with a partner so they could talk it out.
TALK and TRADE: I love talk and trades. This is a new one with 20 terms. If you have more students, make two copies. Cut out the TERMS and pass them out to students. They mingle around the classroom, show their term to a partner (BioFuel) and the partner has to answer RENEWABLE. After answering each other's question, they trade cards and move to a new partner. This is a five minute activity, but it gets them up talking and moving. I LOVE IT!
PRODUCER POWER: This is essentially a worksheet where students could review and make sense of many concepts dealing with plants. You could guide this or have kids work in groups. I love having a strong student lead one of my centers. This keeps kids on track!
