This item contains 25 mixed multiple choice questions designed to test students on basic syntax comprehension. Each question is written specifically to test a particular topic. By using some and avoiding other words/constructions, it is hoped that both teachers and students will be able more precisely and more easily to tell what a student does and does not know than is possible by the use of broader questions.
Also included is a 10-Page Key with detailed explanations of how to answer each question, including how to choose the right answer and how to eliminate wrong choices. This key is designed to be useful to for teachers (for writing and evaluating multiple choice questions) and for students reviewing the questions on their own.
Please see the free preview for a sample question, sample detailed answer, and list of the topic of each question.
This sheet is a great way to evalute student abilities topic-by-topic, help them think logically about the basic structures, and focus their study in the areas most necessary for them.
Works as a test, review, quarterly review, midterm/section of midterm/review for midterm, or worksheet.
NB: Also included is a fill-in version of the same questions.
