This activity is focused on having students display their mastery and understanding of Latin American Revolutions in the 1800's (the key people, events, and legacy) as well as allowing students to display their knowledge of Political and Physical Geography of Latin America via this assignment/project.
Students are tasked with using Google My Maps to take me on a "Virtual Field Trip" of Latin America displaying their understanding of Geography and History.
The assignment has students completing Four Tasks creating Four Layers on their "Google My Maps".
Task 1: Students are asked to draw/sketch the location of 10 examples of the Physical Geography of Latin America, add an illustration, and a detailed description of each feature.
Task 2: Students are asked to add a "Pin" to the hometown/birthplace of Ten Latin American Revolutionaries listed, add a picture, and a detailed description of who each person was and why they were important to the revolutions.
Task 3: Students are asked to drop a "PIn" on the capital of the Ten countries listed in which Revolutions in the 1800's took place and add a detailed description of how each gained their independence.
Task 4: Students are asked to sketch a "Box" around "Latin America" (tests their knowledge of what regions/areas constitute Latin America) and then write a 6-10 sentence paragraph detailing the effects and aftermath of the Latin American Revolutions.
This activity pairs well with my Latin American Independence PPT which is available for purchase in my TPT store.
