This set of 20 Bingo cards focuses on 13 common Latin roots:
uni
bi
tri
quar
oct
cent
dict
aqua
vis
audi
port
equa
scrib
Each Bingo card contains twenty words with the root underlined. The 32 calling cards are worded like this:
The root means "eight".
An animal with eight legs.
When I play with my students, I say the first phrase and then pause, giving them time to determine which root they should scan their card for (in the example above, they would scan their card for words that have the root "oct"). After about 5 seconds, I read the second clue on the card (the definition).
