Bundle Description

Learning vocabulary words can be beneficial in and of itself, but vocabulary study works best when it benefits learners beyond the specific words being taught. Teaching students Latin and Greek roots can exponentially build students’ vocabulary by giving them the tools to break down and decipher words they have never seen before.

Each of the 14 vocabulary lessons included in this bundle feature 2-4 Latin or Greek word roots and 13-15 modern vocabulary words that build on those roots. The impact is that students will learn to analyze complex and unfamiliar words by breaking them down by their roots, building vocabulary acquisition much faster than by standard vocabulary practice. These lessons are great additions to ACT and SAT preparatory courses as well.

For each of the 14 lessons included in this packet, the following is included with your purchase:

  • A PowerPoint presentation containing 2-4 Latin or Greek roots and 13-15 vocabulary words
  • A note-taking activity to accompany each PowerPoint presentation
  • A summative assessment vocabulary test (3 versions for each of the 7 lessons), and an accompanying ExamView test file
