Latinx Bilingual Lesson

- Zip (12 pages)

Description
This is a bilingual lesson that introduces the term "latinx." Students learn about this topic at their own pace by watching videos in English & Spanish, reading articles in English and Spanish, & listening to a radio excerpt from NPR. They then write a 150 word summary in Spanish about what they learned.
This lesson took my students 115 minutes (for us that is two days).
This lesson is editable as it is in Powerpoint format.
I uploaded the slides to Google Classroom so students could easily access the lesson as they worked through the material.
*If your students don't speak much Spanish you could remove the Spanish parts and add a few more English resources.
*This lesson presents both perspectives on whether or not latinx is a valuable word to add to the Spanish language or to use in general. This lesson sparked great conversation in class.
