Latitude and Longitude - Halloween. Thinking of a way to keep students focused on Halloween? Here is a great way to keep the theme of Halloween going while giving students an opportunity to reinforce their latitude and longitude skills at the same time.
Included in this activity are the coordinates and names of 25 towns in the United States with Halloween themed names. Students plot the coordinates on the map provided by drawing a little quarter moon and then identify which state that town is in.
Some towns included are:
Skull Valley, Arizona
Ghost Town, Texas
...and many more!
An answer key is provided with the locations of the coordinates. You could have a lot of fun with this on Halloween! You could have a class competition, a partner activity, or whatever you think of to keep them learning and engaged during this time when excitement is high.
