When it comes to mastering latitude and longitude -- and developing student mental maps-- there is just no substitute for straight-up practice. But who says latitude and longitude can't be fun?
This unique product is 30 dot-to-dot puzzles in which the dots are actually lat and long coordinates that students must place on their provided map grid. Letters range from the simple (the letter T) to the very difficult (the letters Q and S) with everything in between.
There are a million-and-one ways to use this resource in your classroom.
- Message: Spell out social studies-related words and phrases to wish someone a happy birthday or announce that there is no homework.
- Word Scramble: Give a table four or five puzzles to solve and then have them unscramble a vocabulary word.
- Decoration: Have a contest where students complete their letters and then compete for best decoration.
- Students Check Students: Ask students to check other students' work.
