This is a set of 18 beautiful task cards for kids to practice latitude and longitude. I have used these with several groups of students and they love them. This set is very versatile - includes recording sheet, answer key, resources in both color and black and white, and the cards are numbered in order of difficulty.
You can use these task cards for a station, or pass the cards out to kids to write on, or you can keep the pages intact and use as a worksheet! Students can write their answers right on the card if you'd like them to, or you can use the recording sheet for them to write their answers on. Very versatile resource!
The cards are numbered, and leveled, so you can decide what difficulty you'd like your students to tackle, or let them choose on their own. Cards 1-6 are the easiest. They ask the students what ocean the coordinates land them in. Cards 7-12 are medium difficulty and ask students to use the coordinates to arrive at a continent. The last 8 cards, cards 13-18 are the most difficult and they ask about specific cities.
For your convenience, you'll receive the entire set in color and in black and white, so you can choose exactly how you'd like to use this resource.
ANSWER KEY included! This is great if you want to use it as a station or for a game of scoot, because kids or yourself can help each other check their answers.
I have used these awesome task cards with 3rd and 4th grades with great success! Having task cards to complete, rather than just a worksheet, makes learning so much more fun for students.
