Live Performance (copy & paste):
The "Laughter Song!" is a great upbeat song with a message that students should never be afraid to be themselves. I have used this song when working with students with autism, when teaching young elementary school and middle school students about form and the overall message of the piece, and have used it in the high school and college settings. Every time this song has been performed whether in a performance or rehearsal setting, the students and audience respond with a smile on their face and a positive attitude toward music education. As teachers, we tend to get lost in the work, that sometimes to do a piece that brings back the enjoyment, appreciation, and aesthetic experiences that naturally takes part in music is what makes music education a subject that needs to stay in the school system. It originally was written for ukulele and chorus, but can be adapted to guitar and/or piano if ukulele is not a primary instrument. I have also seen how students who play ukulele have always asked for this score in order to play it themselves. It is pretty basic and easy to learn.
