This resource can be printed as is, cut and laminated, and placed in a reading area or print on A3 for bulletin boards or anchor charts.
An I-P-I-C-K chart helps students remember what they have learned when choosing books. After each lesson add a new piece to the chart. Some students, especially kinders, will know how to read pictures and where to read but might not yet be ready for the five-finger rule. Three different versions for ‘K’ are included so that teachers can change the chart as the students grow in reading skills.
I – I can choose a book
Purpose – I know why I want to read it.
Interest – This book is interesting.
Comprehend – I understand what I am reading.
