Simply print out the game and picture directions back-to-back, give them dice, and watch them have fun creating their own Jim Dine heart.
You will create a Laurel Burch style cat using oil pastels. Begin by drawing a large cat on heavy weight paper in pencil. Include large, wide eyes and nose as well as pointy ears and a long, curvy tail inside the body shape. The first roll of the die will determine which pattern you’ll use on the face. This pattern can be drawn on the cheeks or directly under the eyes directly with the pastels. The next two rolls will decide which body patterns you’ll draw. And the last two rolls will give you patterns for the tail. Draw your patterns with oil pastels and color around them. When working with oil pastels, it helps to have a paper towel handy to wipe off the tip when other colors are smeared into them.
