Product Description
After a lesson on the law of conservation of energy, students will play a card game to apply their understanding of energy transformations.

GAME INCLUDES:
Deck 1 (Energy Transformation Deck-Orange/Pink) has picture and name of an object or item that will undergo an energy transformation. These should be printed on orange or pink card stock or paper.

Deck 2 (Energy Sources Deck-Green/Blue) has picture and name of various types of energy.
This game can be played by up to 4 players. These should be printed on green or blue card stock or paper.

DEALING AND SET UP
Dealer deals 3 cards from Deck 1 to each student. These will remain face down next to the player.
Dealer deals 6 cards from Deck 2 to each student. These are the student's playing cards and they may hold them in their hand and can look at them. The remaining cards from this deck will be placed in the middle of the players. Students will draw from these cards during the game.

GAME RULES AND DIRECTIONS:
To play the game, each student will turn over one of their energy transformation cards. This is the first match that the students must make (3 energies make up a transformation).
Students will take turns drawing a card from the deck in order to find the correct energies that make up their transformation. Students must discard a card after each draw.
Once a student has the correct match (3 energies) they will place it in order next to their transformation card and say the energy transformation. The rest of the students check it to be sure it is correct. Then, they flip over their next energy transformation and continue. They will need to draw three cards from the deck at this time. Students should have 6 cards in their hands at all times.
The first person to get 3 correct matches wins.

Skip and Switch Cards: Throughout the game, students may pull a switch or skip card.

*Skip cards can be played to skip a particular player that the person playing the card chooses. The person who has been skipped will skip their next turn.
*Switch cards can be played by a player who wants to switch energy transformation cards with another player.
