This miniature assessment has two multiple choice questions and two short response questions about the Law of Conservation of Mass/Matter. Students need to know what the law states and have a good understanding about what happens to atoms during a chemical change. A complete key is included.
An example question from the exit ticket is below:
"A student placed fruit in a tightly sealed bag and found the mass of the fruit every week. She found the mass did not change over time even though the fruit was going through a chemical change. Is this an example of the Law of Conservation of Mass? Why or why not?"
The exit ticket provides a quick check of understanding for both students and teachers. There are two copies of the same exit ticket on one page so the teacher can reduce copying time and paper waste by printing fewer copies and cutting them in half. There is also a full page version of the exit ticket with larger font and more room for students to write their answers.
This exit ticket is part of the Middle School Science Exit Ticket Super Package
