This chant about the law discusses what a law is, why we have laws, gives examples of laws, talks about who makes laws and what happens when laws are broken. These key concepts are taught in an interactive way with the teacher leading the chant and the children responding. In this download, you will get a printable version of the chant so you can make copies for each individual student . You will also get a picture of how you might want to chart the chant on chart paper. You can implement the chant using either tool or both. I taught it whole group at the carpet, using chart paper. Then, I put the individual copies in a center and had the children read with a partner. When making the chart, it is important to use two different colored markers to differentiate the lead line and the responding line.
