Literacy Centers included are:
.) Spin and Graph - Students will work with a partner. They will take turns using the spinner and reading the red word they land on. Each time they read the word correctly to their partner, they will trace the red word on their graph.
.) Read, Spell, and Write - Students will work with a partner. Together, they will read each red word, spell the red words using magnets, stamps, or letter cards, and then write the red words on the dotted lines.
.) ABC Order - Students will work with a partner. Together, they will use apple word cards to put the red words in ABC Order.
.) Sentence Writing - Students will use each red word in a sentence.
.) Tic Tac Toe - Students will use the apple word cards to play Tic Tac Toe with their partners. 3 words in a row wins!
.) Cut and Paste - This is a No Prep Literacy Center! Students will work with their partners to cut out the flower red word cards and glue them on top of the correct flower basket with the matching red word.
.) Puzzles - Students will work with their partners to put together each Red Word Puzzles. The goal of this activity is for students to practice spelling the Red Words.
.) BINGO - This can be played with partners, a small group, or whole group. Students will make their own BINGO boards. Then, using the red calling cards, the students or teacher will select a word. Students will find the word on their board and place a chip on it. Students will continue playing until someone gets 5 in a row!
.) Memory - Students will play with a partner. First, they will place all of the cards face down. The first player turns over two cards. If it's a match, the student can keep the two cards. If it's not a match, the student turns them back over, and it's the next players turn to turn over two cards. Students continue to play until all of the cards have been matched.
.) File Folder Board Game - To play, students will sit with a partner and take turns using the spinner. The player will move the number of spaces he/she landed on. The player must read the red word in order to stay on that spot. If they cannot read the word, they must go back to where they were and lose a turn. Players continue to play until someone lands on the finish line.
