This lab uses an indicator to show how a reaction at equilibrium can be shifted left or shifted right depending on the stress added to (or removed from) it. The indicator changes the color of the reaction depending on which side of center it is on at the moment.
This lab is amazing to me, personally, but I think that doing this lab is the first moment that students... ahem... BELIEVE in Le Chatelier's Principle.
Teacher Notes are provided.
My labs are straightforward. Some of them are paper labs, but the ones that involve significant laboratory setup or calculations to be made on the part of the teacher are written about in a Teacher Notes section at the end of those particular labs. I use relatively safe and inexpensive chemicals. Of course, safety precautions are always noted at the beginning of the lab.
