This unit plan for teaching “Le Fantôme de l’Opéra” is designed to accompany the text by Gaston Leroux, adapted for intermediate Students by Frank Milani and Paulette Collet, published by Glencoe McGraw Hill. It can be taught as a whole class or differentiated for the various reading abilities found in an upper-level class. Included with the unit plan is a discussion game which mimics a cafe literary discussion inviting students to use their language to discuss the themes and ideas from the book. The other elements of this unit are sold separately so teachers can choose the activities they like and build a unit that fits their needs.
