This unit plan for teaching “Le Fantôme de l’Opéra” is designed to accompany the text by Gaston Leroux, adapted for intermediate Students by Frank Milani and Paulette Collet, published by Glencoe McGraw Hill. It can be taught as a whole class or differentiated for the various reading abilities found in an upper-level class. Included with the unit plan are integrated performance assessments that focus on different modes of communication and allow students to show what they have understood from reading. The other elements of this unit are sold separately so teachers can choose the activities they like and build a unit that fits their needs.
