Inspired by the popular Apples to Apples game, this version features vocabulary and key characters from the novel "Le Petit Prince". This set includes 63 red and 36 green (adjective) cards. A great wrap-up activity after finishing the book. Complete instructions are included.
How to Play: Each student is dealt 5 red cards. One student is chosen to be the judge. He/she draws a green adjective card from the draw pile and reads it out loud and puts it down for all to see. The other students then choose which of their red cards they think best matches the green card. Once each student has submitted a red card (face down so that others don’t see it), the judge shuffles them and reads them out loud. He/she then chooses which submission they think best matches the green card. It is entirely up to the discretion of the judge to choose the winning red card. The student who submitted the winning red card then gets to keep the green card and the red cards that were used get put aside in a pile.
Play continues with a new judge each round. The judge does not submit a red card when judging.
Players need to draw a new red card each time they submit a card. If you run out of red cards, shuffle the discarded red cards and put them back into play.
The winner is the student who has collected the most green cards by the end of the game.
Have a really large class and you don’t want to create multiple sets? Put students into pairs or small teams and play as a whole class. Each team takes turns being the judge.
