Thank you for checking out my "Le petit pingouin - Emergent French Positional Language Reader!"
This emergent reader is meant to assist in developing positional vocabulary knowledge as well as encouraging early reading skills including visual supports and repetitive/predictive texts.
Big Book - This can be used to introduce the mini-book and guide students in how to complete the book independently. It can also be completed together via Aver or Elmo.
Class Book – This can be used as morning journal to create a class book. Students have the choice of 6 different pages with word prompts to decorate and write about their penguin. When completed this book can be added to the classroom library in a duotang. My students love seeing work we have co-created in our library!
Mini-book & Fill in the blank book – These books can be photocopied 2-sided to save paper. Staple along the sides and cut the booklets in half. The last page (visual dictionary) can either be stapled into the booklet or glued into the students’ personal journal dictionary. The cut and paste penguin page should be photocopied separate.
Sight words – These flashcards can be used in literacy centers or as part of the word wall to reinforce vocabulary from the mini-book. Once mastered, students can read the book independently.
