Leaders in your classroom can begin the year by setting goals. This is a cute activity to display in the hallway or in your classroom.
Students will think about goals for the semester or school year and choose 1 to focus on. They will write the goal on the kite, explain why it is important and how they will accomplish it. Then they will cut out the kite and glue it to construction paper. Next, students attach a paper kite string and paper bows. On the bows, students write a leadership word(s) that will help them to reach their goal! Use during a character lesson or incorporate leader and me. This is a great activity for the helping students be leaders of themselves!
EX: I will make A's on all my spelling tests this school year because I am in 4th grade and it is important to me to be successful on the writing test. I will accomplish this goal by studying my words everyday after school before I play video games. On the bows I would use words such as determined, put first things first, self discipline.
