This activity is designed for the class members to run for classroom mayor in small groups. Each group will write a speech explaining what they define as a good leader and what realistic promises they can make to the class upon being elected. In learning about good community leaders and elections, student should be able to list several positive attributes for a good community leader and understand the difference between realistic and unrealistic promises to make during their campaign. Each group can then present their speeches and a mock election can be held. This worksheet allows students to plan their speeches.
