Description

There is no doubt that students will enjoy these leap year activities. Students can make a leap day hat, read a student book to learn facts, do a leap day directed drawing and write about it, play a true/false game, and more.

Anchor Chart

  • Hang the anchor chart for students to reference as they learn about Leap Day.

Leap Day Book

  • This book is written around a mid to end of first-grade level. It tells about leap year and leap day and also gives some facts about this day.

Frog Directed Drawing/Writing

  • Included are step-by-step directions on how to draw a frog. Students can then write about something they learned.

True/False Game

  • This game has a separate Powerpoint where there statements about leap day. Students get up and move to different sides of the room (true side or false side). Then the teacher will reveal the answer and discuss using the Powerpoint.

Groundhog Day Word Search

  • This word search is perfect for young learners who are just learning how to do a word search.
