This product has been created to help build community into your kindergarten or 1st grade classroom. It is a fun inferencing activity where the students get to become little "detectives" as they listen to the clues to find out what the object is that represents the color that it is.
This can be a fun way to start the school year to help students work together, learn and practice inferencing, and incorporates technology.
Example: "I am thinking of something that is the color yellow.."
1. It is a fruit.
2. You have to peel it.
3. It is soft and mushy to eat.
COLORS IN THE ACTIVITY INCLUDE:
*There are 4 examples for each color.* Each card/page will have 3 clues before the students give their final inference.
Students have a variety of ways to respond to the clues…dry erase boards, recording sheets, playing on a game board.
Students can respond with pictures, words, sentences, or first letter of the word that they are thinking to record their ideas.
There are two versions of the task cards as well. Students can listen to the clues being read to them and record their answer on the recording sheet. OR students can have the clues read to them and then scan the QR code to confirm their answer!
The activity comes in a variety of versions. This inferencing activity can be done whole class on an interactive white board with and without QR codes. Students can use their inferencing skills to learn about colors by using the task cards, playing the cooperative learning game, "The Show Down."
If you have more ideas that you would like me to add to this product, I would be happy to work with you to enhance this activity!
