Product Description
This is the second PowerPoint in a new series for ESL teachers; the first is So You Want to Learn English? and the second in the series makes your life prep free easy and that of your students learning English engaged and having fun, all the while learning in a way that is geared toward teenage and adult learners. This lesson will take at least two hours or two class sessions, if not more for presentations! Included is a review from lesson one's introductory phrases pulled from Nirvana's "Smells Like Teen Spirit;" a focus and discussion on "What I do best..." is the bridge from lesson one to the activity on lesson two: a vision board or dreams and goals for students' future successes in life! Included is a slide for each of Bloom's taxonomy six levels of actions verbs: in other words, this is customized for your students in front of you and you can differentiate within your own class as well. Each item on the checklist requires a response; for example: "Relate you top choice for high school" and "Identify your top choice for college" (level six of Bloom's: Knowledge). Students then search the web for images for each item on their checklist and use an online photo collage creator to create their own vision board. Homework/extra practice includes the assignment of making flashcards for one of the levels of Bloom's verbs depending, again, on the needs of your class, defining them and illustrating to demonstrate understanding, as well as an online link to games for more verb practice specific to the needs of ESL students. As is in PowerPoint one in this series, this is geared toward Spanish speaking students as each slide, but NOT the checklists--encourage students to use a translator as needed-is translated into Spanish. Please let me know how this works for your students and best, Rockermom
